Russian official says Ukraine carried out drone attack on Black Sea fleet HQ
On Sunday, a top official in the portion of Crimea that has been seized by Russia accused Ukraine of carrying out an assault using a drone in advance of scheduled celebrations to honor Navy Day. As a result of the strike, five people were injured, and the festivities had to be canceled.
The charge comes only a few hours before Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to observe festivities for Navy Day in his hometown of St. Petersburg and give his approval for Russia’s naval strategy as Moscow continues to escalate its military operations in Ukraine.
“An unidentified object flew into the courtyard of the navy’s headquarters,” Mikhail Razvozhayev, governor of Sevastopol, which is home to Russia’s Black Sea fleet, posted on the Telegram messaging app. Sevastopol is the home of the Russian Black Sea fleet.

Initial reports suggest that it is some kind of unmanned aerial vehicle (drone).
He said that Ukraine had deliberately planned to “ruin Navy Day for us.”
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense did not immediately reply to a request for a comment on the matter.
According to Razvozhayev, the event resulted in the injuries of five people who worked at the fleet headquarters, and the Federal Security Service (FSB) is now examining the incident’s circumstances.

According to what Razvozhayev indicated, all of the festivities have been called off because of safety concerns. “I ask that you maintain your composure and remain indoors if at all possible.”
On the occasion of Russia’s annual celebration known as Navy Day, the country’s fleets put on naval parades and pay tribute to its service members.
