Racial Discrimination is deep-rooted in US. Several members of the community have come out in support of a family from the Kansas City area who allege they were subjected to racial discrimination at a water park in Lee’s Summit.

The Evans family, which included their two teenagers, claimed to have spent $2,000 on an opulent birthday celebration for their two teenagers at Summit Waves, a well-known water park.

On the other hand, the pool staff had to cancel the celebration on Saturday when they showed up and were refused entry. Racial Discrimination started when the family was advised by the administrators of the water park that they could not hold the celebration.

Chris Evans, the father of the two adolescents, protested to Lee’s Summit municipal officials that his family is the target of racial discrimination by the city’s parks and recreation department because they are African-American.

On Monday, a small number of protestors gathered outside the entrance to Summit Waves to voice their discontent with how this matter had been handled. The protesters claimed they had no personal acquaintance with the Evans family but that they were aware from social media posts that the family had consented to let up to 250 children attend the event.

However, the family advertised the party on social media, which led to an attendance of nearly 500 people on Saturday, which is roughly twice the number they had agreed to host, according to a statement from the City of Lee’s Summit.

“That’s how I feel,” protester Sarah Washington said. “These are African-American teens, and she may have felt racial discrimination and uncomfortable, but they should have been allowed to go in if they paid and signed a contract.

Neither the business nor Ivan Nugent, the family’s lawyer, have offered an apology or compensation. That’s how racial discrimination gone so far.

We’d want to see the suburbs adopt a more tolerant mindset toward people from various origins. Laura Logan, a second protestor, expressed her desire for Lee’s Summit to embrace diversity more. Racial discrimination had always been going on in US, but hidden.

The city claims that a tourist overflow prompted the water park managers to cancel the celebration.

“Several attempts to reach the renter in advance to express safety concerns resulted in the establishment of a connection only in the hours preceding the occurrence. At the time, there were no alternatives, according to the statement.

The Evans family, according to protesters, should have received at least a sincere apology. The city has stated that they are willing to cooperate with the family but that gatherings must first be made secure.
