Police Officer Shot and Killed in Downey
A member of the Monterey Park Police Department who was off-duty and attending a LA Fitness facility in Downey was fatally shot and killed on Monday afternoon outside of the club. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was found unconscious and lying in the driver’s seat of his Dodge Charger by emergency medical personnel from the Downey Fire Department when they arrived at the scene at 3:30 in the afternoon.
At around 3:25 o’clock in the afternoon, shots were fired, as reported by the Downey Police Department.
To be more specific, the event took place in the retail centre known as Downey Landing, which is located in the 12704 block of Lakewood Boulevard.
There has been no fresh information released on the location of the suspect, and the authorities have not been successful in locating him as of yet.
“Even the loss of a single human life is, in my view, a terrible thing to have to deal with. The passing of a loved one is a traumatic experience that pales in comparison to the experience of death in general.” Kelly Gordon, who serves as the chief of police in the city of Monterey Park, California, is the person who made the comment.
“All of this happened very recently, and as a result, we are left with an enormous sense of loss in our hearts. This website will, as time goes on, be supplemented with additional content, and any necessary updates will be made. Right now, finding and arresting the individual who is guilty for perpetrating this atrocity is our top priority. We will not rest until we do so.”
The victim was given cardiac CPR by a kind witness as well as by paramedics; nonetheless, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
Sky2 was there at the occasion and captured the march that was held in honour of the officer who had been killed. At the time of the occurrence, the police officer was in the process of being transferred to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
