Donald Trump passport officially retrieved from the FBI
Former President Donald Trump was notified by a Justice Department official on Monday that the FBI had returned his passports after completing their investigation into the search of his Mar–a–Lago estate the previous week. A week before, the search was conducted.
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents claimed they had the passports on August 8, the same day that President Donald Trump said FBI personnel who conducted the search had removed them. A search was conducted by the FBI on August 8, and Trump said that this is when they seized the passports. President Trump’s claim that FBI officers had seized the passports occurred on the same day.
These assertions were made by Trump in an interview with the website Truth Social. Read the whole statement here. He also claimed that they “stole my three passports, including one that had previously expired, along with everything else.” However, he did not elaborate on the nature of the passports in question, failing to specify whether they were private documents or government-issued travel documents. There were no more specifics given by him. (At their inaugurations, presidents get diplomatic passports as part of the official ceremony.)
The Department of Justice has given word that Donald Trump has received his passports back, according to a spokesperson of the department.
When presented with the option to provide an instant response to a request for one, a spokeswoman for Trump’s campaign did not take advantage of the opportunity.
